May 21, 2006: I scanned a slide that was found in our files. This is the first church, now our lounge, which was dedicated in 1953. This original church burned to the ground in 1974, some 10 years after the new church was built onto this. Several modifications to this building were made when it was rebuilt after the fire, most notably the addition of a second floor. Posted by Picasa

21 May 2006. We are celebrating the 55th anniversary of the founding of our congregation. Here is a display of our first church's superfrontal. It's too bad that this lovely work of art can not be returned to service because it is sized for a smaller altar, and the white embroidered "Sanctus" is in poor condition. This superfrontal is part of the display the Altar Guild set up in the narthex. Posted by Picasa

Here is a view of Hope's original Communion ware. The only item missing is the falgon. Perhaps it was donated to a Mission Church in years past. These items were last put on display for the church's 40th anniversary in 1991. Posted by Picasa

May 21, 2006. In thanksgiving for Hope's 55th anniversary, the Altar Guild has prepared this display also. This is the original fair linen, hand crocheted by the late Emma Rush, whose daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are currently members. Because our altar is too large for this venerable piece of art, we had to set it up in the narthex.  Posted by Picasa
