28Feb06. The ceiling tile has been added to the main church to finish off the wall. The frame around that light fixture on the far right is missing in the picture. I hope the workers can find it. Ceiling tile now needs to be installed in the basement. The fellows who worked on this project did clean all the debris out of the basement, disclosing a terribly filthy floor. Posted by Picasa

The glass has been removed (and thrown away in the dumpster) to add a door for elevator room access. I am hoping to see the downspout work take place soon. Posted by Picasa

Shorve Tuesday is a very cold day to install a hole in the narthex. Workers are here putting in the glass outside door. This will provide access to the elevator from the handicap ramp. Posted by Picasa

28 Feb 06 - Here's the ramp railing the day after it was installed. The outside door is also being installed today.  Posted by Picasa

February 27 - 2006. The ramp railing is being installed *CORRECTLY* this time. It still needs to be painted, no doubt in the spring. Posted by Picasa

Thursday 23 Feb. 2006. The pews have been covered in disposable plastic tablecloths due to the drywall sanding. This was done on Monday, and no work has been done since. Our custodian, Kristie, has been working very hard to keep up on the dust and mess this project is making. Nothing further to report on the work on the Ramp. You are cordially invited to stop over anytime to watch the cement dry.  Posted by Picasa

16February 2006. Here is the cement patch. Posted by Picasa

Feb. 16 2006-- Here's the lower narthex drywalling in progress. This wall was added after the original plans were submitted because Summit County disapproved of an elevator in an 'open atrium'. This caused about a month of delays. Posted by Picasa

February 16, 2006. Drywall is finally going up. Posted by Picasa

I am posting this old picture from October just to show the lay of the heat tubing. I guess this is the best "map" we will have of what is under the cement. Picture was osted on 5 Feb 2006  Posted by Picasa

Feb 3 06. Here I am holding the drilled out tube. Posted by Picasa

3 February 2006. The brass fittings were installed and taped over. The system has passed Gary's 50 pound pressure test and held for over an hour, so it would appear there was no other damage, except now to the cement. The contractor has promised he will deduct money from our bill.  Posted by Picasa

Feb 2, '06. Wow! Two holes, and more fluid leaking out. I wonder why the cement workers let the tubing bulge so far out. The tube is only about half an inch from the edge of the cement. Gary from Imperial is sure that no other damaged areas exist beyond this. He has a lot more sculpture work to do before he can add some special joints or clamps or what ever you call them. Posted by Picasa

2 Feb 06. Two of the same three workers from the railing company came to take down the offending railing. I must say that the contractor and owner of the railing company were not happy campers over this mess-up. Each hole drilled into the cement is going to be inspected thoroughly to make sure the tubing was not damaged. Gary from Imperial will repair the punctured tubes, then pressure test the system to 50 lbs. It is designed to operate at 12 lbs. If it holds 50 lbs for one hour, the concensus is that no other tubes were damaged. Of course the cement *was* damaged, so I'll be interested in seeing how seamless the repair job will be. Posted by Picasa

February 2, 2006. Gary from Imperial H/C has arrived to make the delicate repair on the ramp. I am glad to hear the contractor is going to fix the problem, even though it's going to mean the ramp has to get scarred in the process. Posted by Picasa
