Wednesday November 23. A view of the handicap ramp, which has seen no work since October 12. Scaffolding and other steel parts for the elevator are stored outside. Posted by Picasa

Wednesday 23 Nov. Another view outside after a dusting of snow. I wonder what that piece of steel is to the right, and what it's doing there? Posted by Picasa

Wed 23Nov05. The outside piles are dwindling. Most of the elevator components are now inside, instead of ourside. The Thanksgiving holiday starts tomorrow, so I don't look for a lot of work going on this week. Posted by Picasa

November 22, 05. This is the bottom of the elevator car as seen from the basement. The walls of the car will have the wood paneling look. Posted by Picasa

November 22, 2005. Here is a view looking up toward the balcony. The chains are holding the elevator in place from the steel girders. More electronics and other machinery is being installed in the shaft. Posted by Picasa

Nov. 21, 2005. The shell of the elevator is now in the shaft. The tall silver box outside the shaft is the electronic 'brain' of the system. A carpenter was here today filling in the gaps between the shaft cinderblocks and the church floor. He also removed the front of the safety wall that's been covering the shaft for the past 2 months. A wooden railing made of 2x4s will be used now. Posted by Picasa

Monday November 21. This silver box is the 'brains' of the elevator. Posted by Picasa

Work is over for the weekend. I moved the large tookboxes (which are on wheels) to get this picture.  Posted by Picasa

Nov 18, 2005. Here's a view looking up from the narthex  Posted by Picasa

Friday 18 November. Another view of the bottom of the shaft.  Posted by Picasa

18 Nov. Another view of the weights - looking down from the narthex Posted by Picasa

Friday November 18. The weights have been installed, and more work is being done on the bottom of the shaft. Posted by Picasa

Here's another view taken Tuesday 15 November 2005. Taken from the balcony, this is looking down at some of the equipment being installed in the shaft. I am pleased to see work going on again.  Posted by Picasa

15 Nov 05 Here is the view taken from the balcony looking down into the shaft. You can see the platform in the basement, Also note the opening at the lower narthex level toward the top of the picture. There is no work going on today, Tuesday the 15th of November. They got a call to work at the Akron/Canton airport. Posted by Picasa

A view of the work done up to 15 November. Taken from the basement, this looks like the bottom of the elevator has been hung from the supports. Posted by Picasa

Tuesday November 15, 2005 shows that the shaft is starting to look like an elevator is being built. Here is a view from the basement. Note the finished ramp heater tank.  Posted by Picasa

FINALLY!! On Monday November 7 the Elevator crew arrived. The entire lower level of the narthex is packed with their huge toolboxes. They will work here 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts.  Posted by Picasa
